Stein Studios
Stein Studios is the largest studio complex in the south Asian region, and the producer of Sri Lanka's most successful television programs and commercials. The studio complex is also the prime venue for major international shows, concerts, and corporate events. Stein Studios leads the way not only in creative production as well as in research in entertainment technology.
In 2021, Stein Studios decided to upgrade the stereo sound reinforcement system to an immersive spatial audio system, starting a research journey with MNTN to design a multi-channel immersive spatial audio system.
The result is a fully configurable immersive, object-based, and DAW-integrated live sound system synchronized with lighting, video walls, and 3D mapping of the venue. The new spatial audio system comprises an MNTN renderer, 24 horizontal speakers, 12 ceiling speakers, stereo main line arrays, stereo delay line arrays, and 12 subwoofers in a surround configuration.
With the flexibility of the MNTN rendering, every show is designed from concept and programmed in much detail, creating a truly immersive experience for the audience. Stein Studios are the first to introduce the MNTN spatial sound system in a large multi-channel surround format for an auditorium.
